What we do

What we do, and how to ask.

Four kinds of help. Each one starts the same way: an email, a phone call, or turning up on an outreach day.

01

Mentoring for young people

For young people who need one steady adult who is not a parent or a teacher.

  • A volunteer mentor matched to you, meeting regularly for as long as it is useful
  • Help with decisions: school, college, apprenticeships, first jobs, and what to do when it goes wrong
  • Somewhere to say the thing you cannot say at home

02

Help into work

For adults in Canning Town and around Newham who are looking for work or trying to hold on to it.

  • A CV that reads well, written with you, and printed if you need it
  • Applications and interview practice, one to one
  • Someone to check in with while you wait for the reply

03

Essentials on the doorstep

For families and individuals short of food, toiletries or bedding this week.

  • Food, toiletries, duvets and blankets, delivered by hand
  • Outreach days at The Haven Global, and street outreach around Canning Town
  • No referral needed; tell us what is short and where you are

04

Wellbeing and someone to talk to

For anyone carrying more than they can say out loud.

  • A conversation with a volunteer, in person or by phone
  • Signposting to counselling, food banks and other services we trust
  • Prayer, if you want it, and none if you do not
How to ask

Three ways in. None of them is a form.

01

Email

Write to info@yeesproject.org. Say what is needed and where you are. A volunteer replies.

02

Phone

Call or text +44 7758 230 111. If nobody picks up, leave a message; we call back.

03

Come in

The Haven Global, Vincent Street, Canning Town, London E16 1LZ. Outreach days are announced on the events page.

Need help, or want to give it?

Both start with a message.
