YEES Project is the practical arm of The Haven Global, a church in Canning Town, registered as a charity since 2019. Local people helping local people, with whatever is needed this week.
Your Empowerment & Employment Service
The name is the plan. Empowerment: mentoring for young people who need one steady adult in their corner. Employment: practical help for adults trying to get into work. And because you cannot write a CV when you are hungry, we deliver food and essentials to families and people in hardship around Newham.
We are registered with the Charity Commission (number 1187097), overseen by three trustees, and carried by 19 volunteers. Our base is the church hall on Vincent Street.
If you are in Canning Town and you need help, you are met as a neighbour, not a case number.
Four rules we keep
Dignity first
Help is offered the way you would want it offered to you: quietly, by name, and without a test to pass first.
Practical
Food, toiletries, bedding, a CV that reads well, an introduction to someone who can help. Things that change the week.
Local
Canning Town and the streets around it. We know the names, the estates and the corner shops that help.
Rooted in faith
We are a church project and we do not hide it. Nobody is asked what they believe before they are helped.

Josephine Enumah
Pastor of The Haven Global, mentor to women walking through grief, and a psychology graduate (MSc, with distinction). She leads YEES Project as the practical side of that ministry, in the streets around the church.
She writes and teaches about grief, faith and rebuilding at her own site.

Yes. YEES Project is a working name of The Apostolic Movement Church, a charitable incorporated organisation registered in England and Wales, charity number 1187097. You can look us up on the Charity Commission register.
Who can get help?
Anyone in or near Canning Town who needs it: young people who want a mentor, adults looking for work, and families or individuals short of food and essentials. Email or phone us, or come to an outreach day.
Where does the money go?
Food, toiletries and bedding for outreach, and the running of mentoring and employment support. The trustees see every transaction and report to the Charity Commission each year.
Can I volunteer?
Yes. Outreach days need people to pack, carry and deliver; mentoring needs adults who can commit to regular time with one young person. Start with an email to info@yeesproject.org.
